Amideus 10/4 and 10/5

On 10/4 Amideus members developed skills of working together to accomplish a goal by getting into groups of about 4 and building towers out of dry spaghetti and marshmallows. The goal was to get the tower to be as tall as possible. There was also an award for the most creative tower. On 10/5 Amideus members went out to the quad to take a group priory photo. They then took their quarter final that was based on their grade level knowledge.

10/5/12

Today in the priory period we did a speed dating exercise in which we began to really know who the people in our priory are. On the second priory period we watched Band of Brothers to show students the qualities of a good leader.

Bonfilius Priory Periods 10/4-10/5

This week, Bonfilius was involved in an activity called 20 Questions, where we collaborated with a homeroom member to try and guess who each other were by asking yes-or-no questions about each "person". We were able to learn about ourselves as well as about the other people who we "were".

Bonfilius Priory Periods 9/27-9/28

This week, students from Isaac Duenas's homeroom went over to John Marshall to teach the students Physical Education. This started at lunch and ended at 1:45 on Thursday. Bonfilius was also learning how to play Whist in the Priory Homerooms, a card game that involves subliminal communication and cooperation skills.

Alexis - 9/27 and 9/28

On Thursday, the Alexis Priory did a Grade Level Knowledge Jeopardy quiz. This promotes Mastery of Self because each man had to have the discipline to learn and remember the information that they were required to know.
On Friday, we discussed Invisible Children and the Kony 2012 movement. This was a follow-up discussion about the Invisible Children presentation last week.

Amideus 9/27 and 9/28

Amideus watched Band of Brothers in class and learned various leadership skills including the concept of leading from the middle. On 9/28 Amideus learned team building by doing trust walks around campus. Two students were paired up and one of them was blindfolded while the other student had to lead them around campus. This helped the students bond and build trust for each other.

Alexis 9/20 and 9/21

This week, the Alexis Priory did an egg drop activity. This relates to Formation Themes because each person had to recognize Necessity of the Other in order to build their egg dropping contraption. Each homeroom was divided into two teams and each built a device to drop an egg safely from the top of the stairs. The event was great and the teams bonded.

9/22/12

This weok in the Philip priory we we watched a TV show on Netflix, and then discussed what we learned.

Amideus 9/20,21/12

Amideus played the other home rooms in the Amideus Priory Games. Some of these games were: electric fence, figure out the path, get the handkerchief, fit your home room in the circle, and back-to-back stand up. It was hot and we were on the baseball field.

Bonfilius Priory Periods 9/20-9/21

This week in Bonfilius, we again went to John Marshall to teach Physical Education. In the homerooms, we played 20 questions where we identified each other as "celebrities" in 20 yes-or-no questions or less. We also played indian wrestling where we pulled paper towels out of each other's back pockets.
