Amideus 3/14 - 3/15

On 3/14 the Amideus priory joined the rest of the student body in listening to a presentation from Recreation Camp about special needs children and different disorders that they may have. It was informative and educated many of the students about what unique challenges a special needs person may have.

On 3/15 the Amideus priory joined the rest of the student body in listening to representatives from the Faley Games. We were informed more about the history and tradition of the games and the unique needs that the Faley Games meet.

Amideus 2/28 - 3/1

2/28

Amideus 2/21 - 2/22

On both 2/21 and 2/22, the Amideus priory ventured outside to get some fresh air and have some fun. After spending several weeks inside the homerooms, Amideus Priory went out to Courage Field and held 2 different activities.

The 1st activity was a 60v60 dodgeball match which involved the Alexis and Sostene priories. It was great fun and it let the students blow off some excess energy. It also helped strengthen and build our priory wide identity as the Amideus priory.

Amideus 2/13 - 2/14

On 2/13 The Amideus Priory held a Mass on Ash Wednesday with the rest of the student body. Several Amideus students participated in the Mass. Mass seating was disciplined and a few students remained behind afterwards to help with the clean up. Overall it was a great show of unity.

Amideus 2/7-2/8

On Thursday 2/7, we focused on Lenten reflection activities. We listened to a song dealing with the Lord giving a sign to a man in need. We then read a Scripture passage focused on how the Lord should be our rock. After this, we wrote a letter to God telling him whatever they wanted. The students then wrote what they felt God's response to their letter would be. After this, the students then wrote on two slips of paper what they were giving up for Lent and how they would improve themselves over Lent.

Amideus 1/31 - 2/1

The 3rd quarter formation theme for the Amideus Priory is Centrality of Christ. So on 1/31, our main activity was a worksheet we created on love and a Scripture reflection for 1 Corinthians: 13. We focused on love and the impact it has on our lives.

On 2/1 the students made GLK powerpoints. They split up individually and into the groups and worked on their specified knowledge. The powerpoints will be used later on as a study guide for the GLK quarter final.

Amideus 12/6 - 12/7

This week, the Amideus Priory went over leadership lessons on several different topics. They were: Planning, Evaluation, Action, Leadership the Servite Way, Self-Control, and Practiceable Leadership. We also played whist both days, continuing to deliberately practice the game.

11/30

The Amideus Priory went over the concept of deliberate practice with all the homerooms. The priories then played whist with an emphasis on how they could use deliberate practice to improve their whist skills.

Amideus 11/15 and 11/16

On 11/15 Amideus practiced and learned the card game of Whist. The purpose behind this activity is to give students an example where they can tangibly see their skills growing in an activity with deliberate practice.

On 11/16 Amideus celebrated Mass with the rest of the school.

Amideus 11/8/12

Amideus Priory joined the rest of the school in watching the Ti-School Theatre production of Almost, Maine, in which one of the Amideus APs (Karim Karaki) happened to have a major role. The students were excited for the play and enjoyed it.
